And, if you�re pressed for time, you can always hop on the subway. Unlike most people I know, I love the subway. I love popping under ground and, minutes later, popping back up again miles away. Must be what a gopher�s life is like.

The gym I go to is in the Skydome. It�s a great place. The room with all the cardiovascular apparatii is set up in a circle around a central pillar. I think the pillar actually holds up that part of the building. On each of the four sides is a TV to keep people from getting bored.

So I�m pedaling away on an elliptical machine and watching the local news channel. You can barely see the newsreader because this station just plasters the screen with graphics. At the bottom of the screen is a news trailer that gives headlines.

A crawl goes bye saying that Pete Townshend has been arrested for possessing child porn. Now I�m not condoning the possession of child pornography but I was thinking�Is this what we�ve been reduced to? Is this how we consume our news - in one sentence alphanumeric crawls. You just have to know that there�s more to this story. But Pete will be judged by many on that simple sentence. Whether he�s guilty of an offense or not, he�ll go down in history as a kiddie-diddler. Mark my words.
