E-mail Hell
February 16, 2003 - 10:06
Im getting a tad disturbed about some trends with e-mail lately. I dont know how this is happening but its starting to piss me off. Whats bothering me most, I guess, is that Im getting porno and generally rude messages with the names of my Diaryland friends in the address. The domain names are different, but Ive gotten messages from Blu and Ms-M that were clearly not from them. Outfits schlepping get rich quick schemes and one really rude letter telling me what an asshole I was. That leads me to wonder how many messages are floating around out there with my name on them. What do people think Im saying to them? I have enough trouble making myself understood without having shit like that out there. The other thing is that Im pretty sure a lot of the messages I do send arent getting to their destinations. I dont e-mail that often, unless theres no other way to communicate, but I rarely get responses any more. Its like Im stuck in a vacuum. Im not a fan of e-mail at the best of times, especially at work. I get roughly 100 e-mails a day and most of them I have to do something about. So, erroneous messages from scam artists really get on my nerves. And...Im getting more invasive porno posts in my guestbook. Im really not happy about that. Your guestbook entries really brighten my day. When I see the "Someone signed your guestbook" notification, I get all excited. Only to be let down by some cheezy porno website. If youre getting messages from arcasha@... that arent consistent? No, Im not bi-polar. Its not me, is all. Arc |
